Screening of MFA Directing III Films WHO: Columbia College Chicago Film & Video Department WHAT: Screening of MFA Directing III Films Columbia College Chicago MFA Directing III students will screen short films from fall 2007. Using a short script developed in ideation and theme, and working with S-16mm cinematography and non-linear editing equipment, students learn the collaborative skills needed to work with a cinematographer and editor as well as how to maintain continuity of direction. The end results are shorts incorporating the filmmakers’ creativity, vision and skills developed throughout their coursework. This film seeks to explore the process of mourning and further our longing for connection and inevitable disconnection from one another--our ultimate aloneness. “Cache” by Marie Ullrich 14 mins./dark comedy 15-year-old Cyndi has absentee parents and a shoplifting habit. When another social misfit from school shows up at Cyndi's doorstep, the two form an unexpected and very tentative friendship that is jeopardized when Cyndi reveals her secret.
